The “GIS and Remote Sensing Laboratory” of the National Centre “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine invites you to participate in the “Basics of Remote Sensing for Educators” <\/strong>from the 01st<\/strong> to the 09th of December 2025<\/strong> via the ZOOM<\/strong> platform.<\/p>\n

This course program will be relevant for Nature and Earth Sciences teachers<\/strong>. Remote sensing helps children develop critical thinking skills and is a primary source of information about our planet. They will teach you how to incorporate Remote Sensing tools into your study program and make the learning process more fun and exciting for students.

What will you learn:<\/strong>
\ud83d\udcbbHow to work on public-free platforms Copernicus Browser<\/strong>, NASA Giovanni<\/strong> and NASA \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0FIRMS<\/strong>. You will learn to analyse the Sentinel-1,2,3<\/strong> satellite data
\ud83d\udd25How to detect wildfires, their development over time, and spot the burnt areas after fires
\ud83c\udf33How to monitor landscape changes from human impact
\u00a0\u2601 How to discover atmospheric changes in air quality
\ud83c\udf0bHow to use Remote Sensing data for emergency monitoring\u2026 and many more!

Organisational details<\/strong>:
\ud83d\udd38Participation is free<\/strong> of charge
\ud83d\udd38Places are limited<\/strong>. You need to send a motivation letter (max. 300 words), on which we will select participants for the course
\ud83d\udd38The classes begin at 3 PM (EET,<\/strong> <\/em>Kyiv time)<\/strong> and end at 5 PM (EET, Kyiv time)<\/strong>
\ud83d\udd38The presentations, materials, and communication will be in English. An intermediate level (B1<\/strong>) of English is required
\ud83d\udd38You will need to complete 80%<\/strong> of the course to receive the named certificate of attendance
\u00a0<\/p>\n
