In March 2026, Iceland signed a Memorandum of Understanding to take part in Phase II of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) National Collaboration Programme (NCP), coordinated by the European Environment Agency (EEA). Through this participation, Iceland joins 20 countries working together to strengthen the use of CLMS data at national and local levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Collaboration Programme is a European Commission-endorsed initiative that supports countries in using and shaping the future of CLMS. It aims to increase the uptake of land monitoring products, validate their quality, and ensure that the data meets national needs for environmental monitoring and decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the programme, Iceland will focus on promoting CLMS data among national users, identifying user needs, and developing Iceland-specific use cases that demonstrate how Copernicus land data can support environmental monitoring, planning, and policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
