Vi\u00f0bur\u00f0urinn var skipulag\u00f0ur \u00ed samstarfi vi\u00f0 \u00f6nnur Nor\u00f0url\u00f6nd sem hluti af National Collaboration Programme \u00e1 vegum Copernicus Land Monitoring Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fundurinn leiddi saman \u00fe\u00e1tttakendur v\u00ed\u00f0s vegar af Nor\u00f0url\u00f6ndum og var \u00fe\u00e1tttaka fr\u00e1 \u00cdslandi g\u00f3\u00f0. Hann var ver\u00f0m\u00e6tt t\u00e6kif\u00e6ri til a\u00f0 mi\u00f0la \u00feekkingu, l\u00e6ra af n\u00e1lgunum hvers lands og r\u00e6\u00f0a sameiginlegar \u00fearfir, \u00e1skoranir og m\u00f6guleg notkunartilvik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me\u00f0al umfj\u00f6llunarefna voru kortlagning landnotkunar og landger\u00f0ar, yfirstandandi verkefni \u00ed vistger\u00f0akortlagningu, vistkerfab\u00f3khald, Copernicus Land Monitoring Service, evr\u00f3pskir stefnu- og lagaumgj\u00f6r\u00f0ir, l\u00edfe\u00f0lisfr\u00e6\u00f0ilegar breytur og g\u00f6gn um jar\u00f0hreyfingar. Nordic online event on land cover and habitat mapping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 16 April 2026, Iceland took co-organized an online Nordic event on land cover, habitat mapping, Copernicus Land and Earth Observation. The event was planned together with other Nordic countries as part of the National Collaboration Programme for the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting brought together participants from across the Nordic region, with good participation from Iceland. It provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from each other\u2019s national approaches, and discuss common needs, challenges and potential use cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topics included land use and land cover mapping, ongoing habitat mapping projects, ecosystem accounting, Copernicus Land Monitoring Services, European policy frameworks, biophysical variables and ground motion data. The event also helped collect national user requirements and involve users in shaping the future development of CLMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
