Iceland First Copernicus Ambassador<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Natural Science Institute of Iceland, N\u00e1tt\u00farufr\u00e6\u00f0istofnun, has been accepted as a Copernicus Ambassador, becoming the first organisation in Iceland to receive this designation within the EU Space Networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The role will help promote the use of Copernicus data, information and services in Iceland and make these resources more accessible to researchers, public authorities, educational institutions, businesses and other users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Copernicus is the Earth Observation component of the European Union\u2019s Space Programme. It provides open data and services based on satellite observations and measurements from land, sea and air. These resources support environmental monitoring, climate research, land management, emergency response and the sustainable use of natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Copernicus Ambassador, N\u00e1tt\u00farufr\u00e6\u00f0istofnun will raise awareness of available data and services, help users find relevant information and support organisations interested in applying Earth Observation data in their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institute already represents Iceland in the Copernicus User Forum and the Copernicus Committee, where it contributes to discussions on the development of the programme and the needs of users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
