On the weekend of November 18-20, 2022, the town of Húsavík once again became a hub for adventurers, scientists, and space enthusiasts during the Explorers Festival 2022. Hosted by Space Iceland and The Exploration Museum, this annual festival brought together leading experts and passionate explorers to celebrate discovery, innovation, and Iceland’s growing role in space exploration.
The event featured a mix of engaging talks, hands-on workshops, exhibitions, and film screenings, all highlighting the past, present, and future of exploration—from the deep sea to the far reaches of space. A special focus was placed on Iceland’s contributions to astronaut training, planetary research, and sustainable space activities, reinforcing the country’s unique position in global exploration efforts.
As always, the Explorers Festival provided a unique opportunity for visitors to interact with experts, discuss cutting-edge scientific advancements, and get inspired by stories of discovery.
